John Titus Krempel is a native of Ohio who moved to San Francisco, California in 1992 and to Sacramento in 2000. As an artist he specializes in mixed media painting in impressionism and abstract expressionism, the human figure, and digital photography. Mr. Krempel draws inspiration from his life experiences in and around the Sacramento region.
During most of early adult life John lived in the Midwestern United States in the Cleveland and Cincinnati areas where he went to university and received a Masters in Counseling and Education. His professional life working with people with a wide variety of psychological needs have provided Mr. Krempel with intellectual insight into the three-dimensional world that he expresses in his paintings. Mr. Krempel’s art brings forth his view of the surrounding world from a visual, tactile, and psychological perspective.
John was greatly influenced in his art by the abstract expressionist movement of San Francisco from the mid-twentieth century. He traces influences in his work from the areas in which he lives and visits that contain great natural and man-made beauty. In his paintings one can often see references to the mountains, valleys, rivers, and the Pacific Ocean coupled with the built environment. He has participated in over 54 art shows in the past six years and his art is in both private and public collections throughout the United States.
